Temperatures across the country, especially in the north and the Mymensingh region, will drop over the next three days due to heavy fog.

“There will be a thick fog from Monday evening [last night], especially in the northern parts and Mymensingh, which will continue until noon every day. It will be colder due to the dense fog in these areas, ”said meteorologist Bazlur Rashid, citing the Met Office forecast.

It will be one to two degrees Celsius colder over the next three days and will start to rise from Thursday, he said. Bazlur added that possible precipitation between January 11 and 13 could usher in another cold snap.

Yesterday, the country’s lowest temperature of 10 degrees Celsius was recorded in Naogaon, while the minimum temperature in Dhaka was 14.3 degrees Celsius.

At Saidpur Airport in Nilphamari, fog caused flights to be rescheduled and no flights were possible until 11:00 a.m. yesterday, sources said.
